Road Trip

It has been a fun couple of weeks! Gavin and I flew to Medford for a few days and hung out with my family. We then ventured on Gavin's first big road trip. We drove all the way to Rexburg (in two days.....thank goodness), where we visited my brother Phil. We went to dinner, walked around campus, and ate at the new eatery, which was so nice! I was also able to visit with a couple friends from BYU-Idaho that I haven't seen for a while.
Next stop was Utah. We stayed with my Grandma. Gavin was able to meet all his cousins from Adam's side for the first time, as well as his Aunt Liz, my best friend. It was so great to see everyone since we don't get to that often living so far away.
We then packed up and headed back to Medford for a couple more days and now we are home, and the sun is shining! We had a great time. Thanks mom, dad and Grant for having us. We always love coming to visit and miss you already. Here are some pictures from the trip.

Trip To Pittsburgh

Adam's spring break was this week. It was so nice having him home, and spending some time together just relaxing. Most days were spent watching tv, catching up on studying, and doing little things around the house. But one of the days we were able take a quick trip to Pittsburgh, PA. It's just a couple hours away and is a really cool city! I am sure there is so much more to do than what we did, but it was fun getting away for the day.
We started off our day with a trip to IKEA, then we headed to downtown Pittsburgh. After driving around for about 30 minutes trying to find a place to park we were ready for some lunch.
Adam and I are big fans of the food network show, Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, and we are always excited when we are in a city that has a place to eat that has been featured on the show. So, this time it was Primanti Brothers. Italian sandwiches that all come topped with coleslaw and fries. I had the pastrami and cheese, and Adam got the corned beef and cheese. The meat was delish, but we were a little dissapointed with the whole sandwich. Overall, it was pretty good, but not what it was hyped up to be. But, a good experience.
We walked around downtown for a little bit and headed over to the Carnegie Museum of Natural History. That was a lot of fun and such a beautiful museum. It is huge, and we weren't able to see everything, but we saw some pretty cool sculptures, checked out the mineralogy (yes, that is a real word) section, and my favorite part.....the dinosaurs. The museum has one of the best dinosaur exhibits in the country. So much fun. It was a really fun day and so nice to get away (hey, that rhymes)! We'll have to check out some of the other fun sites next time we are there.

Our first attempt at a family pic
Ok...a little better, I guess...no Gavin attacking me this time...just can't keep those beautiful eyes open. And check out that hair...hmmmmm, maybe it's time for a first haircut?

One last family photo in the sculpture section of the museum.
