Something To Play With

Gavin was a little curious today waking up from his nap with his new taggie blanket. He looks a little confused and is probably wondering why I am holding that big black thing that flashes in his face again.
Anyways, I made him this the other night....super easy and a good short little project...just how I like them.

Back In Business

Good news....our roof has been fixed and the leaking has stopped! Well, until tonight that is. There is one that started up again in the office, but oh well, I'll call again tomorrow. Now, onto getting the drywall replaced...so fun!

Onto more exciting news, my little guy is lovin' his new seat....well for about 5 minutes or so, and then he's done and just wants to lay down and move around! He's a mover!

Also, Gavin's new excitement.....his feet!

Our Leaky Little Home

So, right before Christmas I noticed a little crack on the ceiling in one of our rooms. I called the office and some guy came a looked at it. He said they would send a contractor in to fix it. Well, we left for Oregon for Christmas and when we came back that little crack had become a little bigger and there were some water spots on our desk. Great, a leak. Within a couple days, the leak returned and I called the office again, telling them the story. Someone would come look at it they said. So, a few days passed and to make a long story short one leak in our office turned into three or four, as well as a couple in our bedroom and in Gavin's room. Almost two weeks ago, another guy came and looked at everything, and nothing happened. Each day the cracks/leaks have gotten worse, and no one has come to fix them. Adam called again and the roof guy was supposed to be here on Monday...no one came. Adam called again, they said he would be here today.....never came. I walked down to the office, with little G bundle up and talked to the lady who told me the roofer would be working on our building tomorrow. We shall see.... our little slumber party downstairs has been uhhh...fun, but I'm ready to have my upstairs back again...so hopefully it doesn't cave in tonight!

Amongst all the craziness, this little guy always makes me smile.

Hibernation

Gavin had his 4 month check up today.....14 pounds, 26 inches....always growing. He is smiling and laughing more and more, and has learned how to actually play with his toys now! The past few days have been a little rough trying to transition with the 3 hour time difference from Oregon, but tomorrow I am getting up early and getting this boy out of bed! No more going to bed at one in the morning. We'll see how it goes.
Now, Gavin and I are sitting here trying to keep ourselves busy and wishing we could just stay inside all winter. I'm looking out the window and this is the first time all day that it isn't snowing. I fear that is not going to last for long.

A view from our front door. Our poor Christmas tree lying on the ground waiting for someone to take him away.

Christmas in Oregon

We had a great Christmas in Oregon with my family this year. It is always so good to be with family for the holidays. This was the first Christmas with everyone together now that my brother Phil is back from his mission. It is amazing the difference that one person can make in the dynamics of a family. It is great to have him back.
Now, I am sitting at home on my couch (a little sad, and missing the sound of the piano in the background, laughter, playing games and spending days doing nothing with my family) reflecting on the past two weeks of fun, and feel so blessed for the life I have. It is always so great to see my family, but there is always a time to come home. Here are some pictures to sum up our two weeks in Oregon.
Day one: trimming the tree with Philly

Just relaxing with Grandma while she works on the Computer.

So excited for new Christmas jammies and for Santa to come!
