A Cleveland Christmas

This was our first year here in Cleveland for Christmas. I was a little homesick, but we had a great Christmas with our little family. Adam has had a nice break so we have had a great time being together. Gavin is his little shadow and hardly ever leaves his side.
A few days before Christmas we headed up to Kirtland to check out all the nativities they have set up in the visitors center. So many beautiful depictions of Christ's birth...all so different and unique.
Christmas Eve we spent with some friends eating yummy soups and playing a few games. We then headed home to open a new Christmas book....The Polar Express, and new jammies. Gavin was about done after that so we put the kids to bed and Adam and I read the Christmas story together...nice and quiet.
Christmas morning began with a yummy breakfast casserole and hot chocolate...complete with whip cream and mini peppermint marshmallows. Gavin woke up around 8:30.....just enough time to check out his stocking and get dressed for church. We had a wonderful program at church, and then headed home. It was so fun to watch Gavin open his presents.

Just so cute in her new little hat from Grandma Merrill. I love the little baby bubbles.

 This boy loves his trains.

I know this picture quality is horrible, but I think it is so cute. I had to take it with our video camera. Gavin was being so cooperative about taking a picture by the tree and was just sitting there holding Ruby (such a rare occurance for him to sit so still as long as he was). And what do I do? Drop my camera right on the lens which caused it to jam....and not work. All while little G and Ruby are just sitting there cute as can be. Then the moment was over and I had a camera that wasn't working Christmas morning. Sweet. So I got the video camera, and got this picture instead....still cute. And, thankfully Adam was able to save the day and fix the camera...whew.

And, this picture has nothing to do with Christmas, but I love it. So, so cute of little Ruby and her daddy right before her bath.

Christmas Cookies

This Christmas season I made lots and lots of cookies....I think I am done for a while. Gavin had fun helping as always....he LOVES to make cookies. Hmmmm...you think it could have anything to do with all the yummy dough her eats?

Silly Sleeper

Last night before heading to bed I did my nightly check on my little ones. I love looking at little G when he is sleeping...so calm and peaceful.....a rare sight ;). Well, last night this is how I found him. He started out in his bed, but somewhere along the way he ended up like this.....dead asleep. So cute.

Love

I just love my little Ruby girl. If I could I would spend all day snuggling her close. She is perfect.

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree

Gavin loved helping bring in our Christmas tree. He loves the lights, and makes sure I get them turned on first thing in the morning. The tree looks progressively a little more bare at the bottom every day, but I don't am learning not to mind. I'm just glad I have two little ones to enjoy the pretty lights and begin some Christmas traditions with. Oh, how I love the Christmas season.

Thanksgiving in Utah

We were lucky enough to spend Thanksgiving this year with Adam's family. The flight there.....pretty uneventful. The flight home.....same thing minus Gavin puking all that was in his little body all over Adam. Meanwhile I sat behind them having a lovely conversation with a sweet lady from Wisconsin. I was oblivious to the situation until we got up to leave the airplane and saw the disaster on Adam's shirt. He is such a good great dad. Oh, fun times flying across the country with a two year old.
Anyways.....we made it to Utah very late at night and were so happy to get to bed. We had a delicious Thanksgiving meal and spent the day relaxing and catching up.
Friday we headed out to see "Puss In Boots"......Gavin (and Adam) slept through most of it. Next, we headed to Chuck-A-Rama...which hit the spot. And finally our ending point....the Marriott hotel in down town Salt Lake where we swam, and swam and played games till the wee hours of the night.
We had such a great weekend. Gavin loved playing with his cousins. Now that we are home he keeps saying, "Cameron, James?" (His two little cousins.) He sure loved playing with those boys.
We also got to see Adam's Grandma who lives with his parents. Such a fun weekend!
P.S. We also blessed Ruby that weekend....pictures to come later :)
