Happy Halloween

We took Gavin out trick-or-treating for the first time this year. He loved it, and quickly caught on, running from house to house. I ended up in the car feeding little Ruby the whole time. But, we had fun watching all the trick-or-treaters walking by and checking out all the fun costumes. Gavin was so excited to show me all this candy and came walking to the car with a huge smile. He melts my heart.

Ward Halloween Party and Pumpkin Carving

We had a great time at our ward Halloween party this year. It was complete with a chili cook-off, costume contest, trunk-or-treating and many other fun activities for the kids. Gavin was pretty excited about his candy. We dressed him up as Thomas The Tank Engine this year. My Dad made a sweet Thomas for my brother when he was about four. So, Adam and I thought we could replicate it. It turned out pretty cute....not quite as good as my dads, but we were pretty proud of ourselves. Gavin just wanted to play with it, and wore it for about 5 minutes at the party. Ha. He was the cutest little train conductor though. And Ruby was the cutest little witch.

My little brother Phil.....wasn't he so cute!?

Little G-man had fun carving his bat pumpkin with is Dad.

1 Month Stats

Well, little Ruby is quickly passing the one month mark. At her one month check up she weighed 8 lbs. 5 oz. and was 21 inches long. I can't believe how quickly she is losing that little newborn look!

Pictures For Grandma

Happy Monday from little Ruby.

Patterson Farm

Adam had the day off today so we headed up to Patterson farm for the afternoon. It was a great place for kids. They have an apple orchard where you can pick your own apples, a little corn maze, and lots of little activities for little kids. Gavin had a great time, and it was beautiful weather (minus the wind) with all the colorful leaves and apple trees.
We picked out a pumpkin
 Went on a tractor ride.
Gavin loved playing on these big tractors.

 and on the tire swing.

Gavin found his favorite part......the little toy tractors in the sand box. He was a little sad to say good-bye to them.

 Happy fall!

Sunday

Yesterday was Ruby's first day at church. It was nice to be back. Of course we had to take a picture of her in her little Sunday dress.

Big Brother

I love watching Gavin with his little sister. He sure loves her. He is always trying to touch her face, give her kisses etc...  especially when she is snoozing. If Ruby is sleeping upstairs he always asks where "Wuby" is and goes looking for her. I think these two will make a good little team.

One Month

Well this cute little peanut is now one month old! I can't believe it! Still hanging out in little newborn clothes. She is growing...slowly, but surely. :)

Grandma and Grandpa Merrill Visit

I was lucky enough to have my mom come out here a few days after having Ruby. She was here for a week and then my Dad headed out to join her. It was so nice have the extra help. I felt pretty good about managing two kids......and then they left. Ha. That's when the real party started. ;) Actually, I am feeling pretty good and  am loving having two little kiddos who keep me busy all day long. Ruby is an awesome sleeper at night, so that definitely makes my life a little easier.

Anyways....while my parents were here we mostly stayed close to home, but managed to get out of the house here and there. I am not one to stay cooped up for long. I think I would go crazy. We went on a walk to our favorite place...the Brecksville metro park. Gavin ran....I don't think he ever "walks" on our walks.

We ate some yummy food at the Spaghetti Warehouse in Akron. Too bad we had to wait for an hour to be seated and then another hour before we got our food! So much fun with a two year old. We were all ready for bed at the end of the night. Gavin was pretty thrilled with his little balloon monkey....until he popped it moments later. ;)
My little yoga baby. After a walk to Handels for some ice-cream I left Ruby in her little baby carrier pouch thing (for lack of a better term) sleeping on the couch. When I took her out this is what she looked like.
My Dad ran in the Akron marathon while he was here which probably explains the sleeping pictures with Ruby. He did a great job...way to go dad!
