Our Summer Has Begun

This past weekend we went camping with some friends. Luckily it only rained hard once, leaving us with lots of mud. Good thing we brought G-man's rain boots....he put them to good use. We had so much fun relaxing by the fire, eating good food, staying up late talking, and late night hunting for raccoons (well, the boys did at least). We were all so exhausted when we came home, and took a nice big nap.
I have quite a few adorable pictures of these two (Gavin and his friend Charlotte). They were quite the pair.
Gavin was in heaven with all the rocks and dirty water to throw them in.
He's a pro at setting up that tent.
That's because he has such a studly dad to show him how it's done.
This was the best we could get. Gavin had better things to do than sit and take a picture with his mom.

Our Fun Weekend

My parents came to visit last week for a few days. I love, love, love when they come. We went to an Indian's game...they won at the last minute and had a sweet fire works show at the end. It was a great game. My mom and I had fun shopping and getting pedicures while Gavin napped.
Gavin showed his grandma his favorite thing to do....throwing rocks in the water. Doesn't take much to make him happy (Grandpa was busy during the day attending meetings for work). We love to go on walks in the metro parks here, and there is a perfect spot for skipping rocks. We usually always stop there at the end of our walk, and he finds the biggest rocks to throw in the water. He could be there all day.
We tried out lots of new yummy recipes, and had a great time just being together.
My parents came and went too quickly, but we were so happy they were able to come out for a few days.

Gavin was pretty excited to see grandma and grandpa.
I know this picture isn't very clear, but it is still just so cute of the three of them.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy mother's day to all the wonderful mom's. I am so grateful for the women in my life that have been such good examples to me. I grew up with a great mom, who was always an amazing example to me, and was able to have my grandma live with my family throughout my high school years. I feel so blessed to have had that opportunity to get to know my grandma so well, and to learn from her quiet example of obedience, love, and of her testimony of the gospel. My mom carries those same qualities, and I know I am who I am because of her. Now, having my own family I have realized more and more how amazing she is, and all the hard work she did and still does for our family.
I am also grateful for my mother-in-law who raised such a wonderful man, who I am lucky to have as my husband.
Today was a great day....the sun was actually shining here in Ohio! And, I received this cute little gift from my little G-man.
